Canvas IP SM GW (IP Short Message Gateway)
Description
As part of the Canvas VAS consolidation platform, Canvas IP SM GW provides text messaging interworking between SMSC/GSM/UMTS/CDMA and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and LTE. The gateway gives functionality to forward SMS messages from/to IMS capable equipment. The fully virtualized NFV-ready messaging service center allows service providers/operators to provide SMS delivery services efficiently over the next generation IP networks, which are fully integrated with the traditional legacy networks (2G/3G). It acts as an application server in IMS domain, and communicates with HSS/HLR for subscriber information retrieval.
