A software application delivery platform with features like session persistence, health checks and a variety of load balancing algorithms. It can load balance both HTTP and TCP traffic, supporting both modern web applications, as well as enterprise applications, such as Microsoft Exchange. It optimizes applications with a content cache that improves the load times of web pages and reduces traffic to origin servers. It also improves availability by using cached content as a backup if origin servers have failed. It can cache content retrieved from upstream HTTP servers and responses returned by FastCGI, SCGI and uwsgi services. Additionally, it secures web applications by protecting data and keeping websites running in the face of malicious traffic. It can impose limits on requests, bandwidth and connections to slow down or deflect DDoS attacks.
