An NPB (Network Packet Broker) is a rack-mounted network device that gathers and aggregates network traffic from SPANs (Switch Port Analyzers) or network taps and then manipulates that traffic, or copies of that traffic, to enable the more efficient use of network security and performance tools, both inline and/or passive.
